I am interested in the influence technology has on people. Our behaviour and social interactions are informed not merely by innate impulses, or culturally transmitted conventions, but also by our technological environment. Many of the obstacles we encounter are man made, be it the road markings and traffic lights in the city, or the structures and features of social media platforms. We have little choice but to adapt, and to allow our desires to not be guided by nature, but manipulated by invisible teams of engineers and designers. Where then is our actual self? Does it even exist?
